Hybrid Learning Resources & Checklist

Orientation: Please review the orientation presentation and following information prior to student return: OMMS In-person Return Orientation.

Return Dates and Schedule: As a reminder, students who committed to return to in-building instruction return in phases as follows:
  • April 12: 7th and 8th-grade students in Group A

  • April 15: 7th and 8th-grade students in Group B

  • Families of students in Groups A or B can check HCPSS Connect by using parent/guardian credentials to see your child's A or B day assignment. 

  • The start time of OMMS students is 8:15AM. Click to view a copy of the OMMS Master Schedule.

Materials

  • Mask

  • Laptop (fully charged)

  • Backpack - Lockers will not be assigned

  • Headphones / Earbuds

  • Water bottle

  • Lunch (Free breakfast & lunch is provided)

Transportation: If you are eligible for, and opted into receiving transportation services, you can now log in to the HCPSS Bus Stop Locator for locations and times.

  • Bus Riders - please be at your stop 5-10 minutes early.  Please practice social distancing guidelines. 

  • Car Riders - drop off in the lower lot. Please do not use the bus loop and practice social distancing guidelines.

  • Walkers: 7th grade students will be directed to 7th grade entrance and 8th grade students to the 8th grade entrance. 

  • Staff will be outside to greet students and to help direct car riders, walkers and bus riders to their designated locations. 

  • First-period teachers will distribute printed schedules to students.

Late Arrival and Early Dismissal

Late Arrival: Students must walk through the main entrance and ring the bell. Office staff will walk around and let students enter the building. Students will then sign in and walk to their class. Any notes for late arrivals must be emailed to ommsabsence@hcpss.org

Early Dismissal: Please call 410-313-6937 when you are at the parking lot. An office staff member may ask you Covid related questions as a safety precaution and will direct you to sign out students. Please have your Picture ID ready to display at the door during dismissal. 

Dismissal from Health Room: Please call 410-313-6941 when you arrive at the parking lot. Healthroom staff will give you directions to pick up students at the 7th grade entrance and help you sign out Please have your picture ID ready to present to healthroom staff.. 

Health Check Reminders: With the return of students and staff to classrooms and extracurricular activities, it is critical that everyone strictly follows the health guidance in place to keep HCPSS students and staff safe and able to continue to provide in-person opportunities. It is important that open communication exists between households and the school. Please review and share the update from Health Services weekly with families and staff and as each phase of students returns.

Medication Drop Off : Any medications required during school hours including prescription, “over-the-counter” (OTC) and homeopathic/herbal medications require a medication order signed by an approved health care provider and are subject to the HCPSS medication policy and procedure. Chromebook Care/Repair/Exchange

Option 1: Take you drive to one of the following HCPSS Support Centers and they will either repair on the spot or give you a new device. 

  • Old Bushy Park Elementary School, Room E2 (door to the left of the front entrance), 2690 Route 97, Glenwood (Building is between Glenwood Middle School and Bushy Park Elementary School)

  • Old Cedar Lane, Gymnasium (door on the left side of the building; follow the signs), 5451 Beaverkill Road, Columbia (Building shares a parking lot with Harper’s Choice Middle School)

Note: Both locations are in old school buildings that are not located at the same sites as the new schools with similar names. Anyone seeking assistance should go to the locations listed above and not go to or call the current schools regarding the Technology Support Center.
Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 2-5 p.m. Please note that Technology Support Centers are closed any day that HCPSS offices are closed.

Option 2: Bring your device to OMMS Media Center. 

  • Staff will exchange your device for an older loaner Dell and put in a work order ticket for the Chromebook

  • Students will be contacted after the county tech has repaired their device to get back their Chromebook. 

Chromebook Care: Students should care for their Chromebooks to avoid any damage to the device. Learn more about caring for Chromebooks.
